BOULDER — Colorado fans planning to attend Saturday’s CU vs. Oregon football game may want to bring some binoculars so they can scan the sidelines on the Buffs side for recruits.
It’s known that Colorado’s highest rated commitment, quarterback Shane Dillon, is expected to fly in from San Diego for the game.
Dillon, 6-feet-5 and listed at 185 pounds, is a senior star at El Cajon (Calif.) Christian High School. He earned a spot this summer on the prestigious national “Elite 11″ quarterback list.
Dillon extended an oral commitment to Colorado in May after considering an early offer list that also included Ohio State, Arizona, Vanderbilt and Cincinnati.
NCAA rules prohibit college coaches from talking publicly about recruits until they are signed. But, without mentioning names, Embree could confirm that the Buffs will be hosting recruits Saturday.
“We’ll have a few (recruits) in,” Embree said. “We’re excited about them. They’ll get a chance to see what opportunity awaits them if they choose to be a Buff. We’re excited to have them in. There’s some guys that can definitely help us.”
